Day 1
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your lodge in Arusha, set among gardens with views towards Mount Meru. Meet your guide over dinner to talk through the route ahead, then rest for the safari to come.
Day 2
Drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its ancient baobab trees and large elephant herds, and enjoy an afternoon game drive among the woodland and river valleys. Settle into your lodge near the park for dinner and your first night on safari.
Day 3
Travel to Lake Manyara National Park and take an afternoon game drive along the lake shore, looking out for tree-climbing lions, pink flamingos and more than 400 species of bird. Return to your lodge as the sun sets over the Rift Valley escarpment.
Day 4
Cross the Ngorongoro highlands and descend onto the vast plains of the Serengeti, game viewing along the way. Arrive at your camp in the late afternoon in time for an evening game drive as predators begin to stir in the cooling light.
Day 5
A full day of game drives on the endless plains, tracking lions, cheetahs and leopards and, in season, the Great Migration herds massing on the grasslands. Break for a picnic lunch in the bush, then continue through the afternoon before returning to camp for dinner under the stars.
Day 6
Optionally rise before dawn for a hot air balloon safari over the Serengeti, floating above the plains and landing to a champagne breakfast. Spend the afternoon on a further game drive, and in the evening enjoy a private bush dinner under a canopy of stars.
Day 7
A morning game drive before transferring to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, climbing to your camp on the crater rim. Dine with sweeping views over the caldera as the cool highland air settles in and the sky fills with stars.
Day 8
Descend early into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest intact volcanic caldera, for a half-day game drive among the Big Five and an extraordinary concentration of wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor before ascending back up to the rim.
Day 9
Ascend from the crater and drive back to Arusha, then fly to Zanzibar. Transfer to your beach resort, where the pace slows instantly; unwind with a welcome drink as the ocean stretches out before you and the safari dust settles.
Day 10
Your first full day on the island. Relax by the pool and on the white sand, with a spa treatment for two available at your resort. Dinner is served as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean, with the day's only plan being to do very little.
Day 11
Spend the morning at leisure, then take a traditional dhow cruise at sunset along the coast, with drinks on board as the sky turns gold and the first stars appear. Return to your resort for a relaxed dinner.
Day 12
A day of pure relaxation - time on the beach, a couples massage at the spa, and a romantic dinner on the sand in the evening as the tide comes in. Let the island set the pace.
Day 13
Your last full day in Zanzibar. Take a final swim, revisit a favourite spot, or simply enjoy the villa before one last sunset over the ocean. Savour a farewell dinner with your feet in the sand.
Day 14
After breakfast, transfer to Zanzibar International Airport for your onward flight, closing your safari-and-beach honeymoon with memories of plains, crater and coast.
