Day 1
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where a private host meets you and escorts you to a boutique Nairobi hotel. Freshen up and enjoy a relaxed dinner at leisure, perhaps on a garden terrace, as you ease into the rhythm of East Africa. Your trip designer will have left a welcome note and a short brief of the days ahead.
Day 2
After breakfast you are transferred to Wilson Airport for a scenic light-aircraft flight over the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara. Land at a bush airstrip where your private guide is waiting, and drive to your luxury tented camp in time for lunch. Spend the late afternoon on your first private game drive, with the plains alive with zebra, wildebeest and giraffe, returning to camp for a candlelit dinner beneath a sky thick with stars.
Day 3
A full day of private game drives with your dedicated guide and 4x4, following the rhythms of the reserve: lions dozing in the shade by mid-morning, elephants filing down to the river, and cheetahs scanning the grassland from a termite mound. Break for a gourmet picnic laid out on the savannah, then continue into the golden hours as the light softens. Toast your honeymoon with a champagne sundowner on the plains before heading back to camp for dinner.
Day 4
Rise before dawn for an optional hot air balloon safari, drifting silently over the plains as the sun rises and landing to a champagne breakfast in the bush. Rest through the heat of the day by the pool, then head out for an afternoon game drive. Your evening ends with a private candlelit bush dinner for two, set under the stars with a personal waiter and a bottle of something special.
Day 5
After a final early-morning game drive and breakfast, you are driven to the airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar. Land on the spice island and transfer to your beachfront villa with a private plunge pool, where the staff greet you with a cool towel and a welcome drink. Dinner is served overlooking the Indian Ocean as the tide slides out.
Day 6
A full day to unwind together. Start with a floating breakfast brought to your private pool on a tray, then wander the powder-white sand or claim a shaded lounger on the beach. The afternoon is yours for swimming, reading or a slow walk along the shoreline, with dinner at the resort as the sun sets.
Day 7
Treat yourselves to a side-by-side couples massage in the open-air spa, using local oils with the sound of the ocean as your soundtrack. After a light lunch, relax on the beach until mid-afternoon, then board a traditional dhow for a sunset cruise, gliding along the coast with drinks and canapes as the sky turns pink and gold.
Day 8
Take a boat trip out to the coral reefs for a day of snorkeling among vibrant coral gardens and shoals of tropical fish, with the chance to spot turtles and rays. Break on a sandbank for a swim and a picnic lunch, then return to your villa for a quiet evening on the terrace.
Day 9
A free day to enjoy Zanzibar exactly as you wish. Perhaps a spice-farm visit, a kite-surfing lesson, a tour of Stone Town's historic lanes, or simply more time in the pool. Your concierge can arrange anything you would like with a little notice.
Day 10
Spend a slow morning over breakfast by the pool, then a relaxed afternoon on the sand. In the evening, enjoy a private candlelit dinner on the beach - just the two of you, with a table set on the sand, lanterns, and a menu prepared by the resort chef.
Day 11
Your last full day on the island. Revisit a favourite spot, take a final swim in the warm turquoise water, or simply do nothing at all. Enjoy a farewell dinner at the resort and savour the last of the island's slow pace.
Day 12
After a leisurely breakfast and a last look at the ocean, you are transferred to Zanzibar International Airport for your onward flight home, carrying with you memories of safari plains and island shores.
